For years, I travelled by stuffing clothes into a backpack or suitcase, which was inefficient. I tended to overpack and then struggle to fit everything in, causing myself to make tough decisions about what to bring. Does this sound familiar?
Before trekking in Nepal, I did a lot of research, which pointed to Packing Cubes as a great way to organise your clothes and items! These were a game-changer and helped me become more minimalist in my travel style.
As my main priority was lightweight equipment, I was drawn to the Osprey Ultralight Packing Cube Set for their weight, simplicity, strength and reliability. Since buying them at a nice discount, £30 down from RRP of £42, I have had no issues and have been very organised. The small cube is ideal for socks and underwear, the medium cube for T-shirts and shorts and the large cube for trousers, jumpers and larger clothing. This strategy has served me well when hostelling, road-tripping and trekking. It helps when you are tired and changing accommodations to know where each piece of clothing is, especially when hiking in changeable weather!
I admit to being an Osprey fanboy, but the ripstock material's quality allows the cubes to stretch and pack lots in without breaking the zip seam. They perfectly fit within my Osprey Fairpoint 40 and will ensure you can carry the bag onto most airlines as a cabin bag. I have recently bought an Osprey Ultralight Zip Organsier for small items that I used to stuff into the top of a backpack lid. This has complimented the packing cubes and has a clear pouch for toiletries, removable mirrors, mesh nets and a zip compartment for all your storage needs! There are cheaper options available on Amazon or Decathlon for Packing Cubes, so find what fits your needs and don't worry about Backpack space again. |
