Where to begin

The philosophy

Four principles that shape every guide, review and route

01
Minimalism
Take less, experience more. Every item in your pack is a decision — make them count.
02
Freedom
The best routes are the ones you design yourself.Plan a destination and route then see where it takes you.
03
Deep Exploration
The trails worth taking rarely appear on the first page of Google. Go further.Check out TrekMind for inspiration
04
Adaptability
Weather changes, plans shift, paths close. Trekkers adapt and go anyway.

Plan smarter
with TrekMind

Most trek planning tools are built for tourists. I built TrekMind because nothing else let me properly compare routes before committing — interactive 3D globe, 100+ routes, full itineraries, and elevation data for the world’s best trails.

Interactive 3D Globe

See distance, elevation gain, difficulty, and day-by-day breakdowns before booking anything.
Full Day-by-Day Itineraries
Complete itineraries — accommodation, distance, highlights, and difficulty per stage.

Left brain meets
right brain

I spent my early career designing Defenders and Range Rovers at Jaguar Land Rover — vehicles built for the point where the road stops. That engineering mentality is what I bring to the mountains.

But I also bring a sketchbook. Backpacker’s Mentality is a true field journal: mountain-tested route guides and engineer-reviewed gear analysis, alongside oil paintings, mixed-media collages, and photography from the trail. I’m also building TrekMind, an interactive database of 150+ global trekking routes.

Based in North Vancouver with my partner Roisin. Walked it, painted it, or built it. Everything else stays off the site.
